Claude Number - Only Supported Countries Work
Claude asks for a phone number when you create an account and sends a text code to it. Anthropic accepts numbers only from the countries where Claude is offered, and its help pages say landlines and VoIP numbers are not accepted. Once verified, the number cannot be changed and can confirm at most three Claude accounts, so think ahead about whether you will need it again. A one-time number receives the signup code and is deleted about ten minutes later; a permanent number is still there afterwards. The table below lists only countries where Claude is offered.

Codes go where you are
Every incoming SMS to a permanent number is forwarded automatically to the destination you choose. A one-time number shows its code in your dashboard instead.

Why use a virtual number for Claude
Claude verifies new accounts by a text message to a phone number. A Claude virtual number puts that code in your Freeje dashboard, so you can sign up without giving the app your personal number. Choose a one-time number if the code is all you need. Choose a permanent number if the number should stay yours, because Anthropic does not let you change a verified number later.
Which country to choose for Claude
Pick a country from the table: Anthropic accepts only numbers from places where Claude is offered, and the table does not list the countries where it is not. The table opens with Sweden, Norway, the United States, France and Croatia, then lists the rest, lowest one-time price first. Anthropic's help also says VoIP numbers and landlines are not accepted, and we cannot promise that a particular number will be treated as a mobile number. If the code never arrives, the refund policy applies. Permanent numbers exist in part of the list only.
